Safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility. This training pack includes the Safeguarding Children Refresher training and the Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect course.
If you come in to contact with children for long periods during the course of your work or as a volunteer, or if you need to refresh your safeguarding knowledge and training, this is the course for you.
The course content contains materials detailing the signs of child abuse and neglect, the correct courses of action when a child is being abused, and how best to keep records when dealing with child abuse.
It is a statutory requirement for anyone who works with children to update their knowledge of legislation and guidance and maintain the ability to act on concerns about the safety and welfare of children and young people. The government guidance states that safeguarding refresher training should take place at least every three years.

On completion of each course in this training pack you will be able to download a Virtual College certificate.
The Child Abuse and Neglect course will take between one to two hours and the Safeguarding Children Refresher course will take approximately one to three hours. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly you can study and absorb the material. You can proceed as quickly or slowly as you like.
Test and certificate:
Each end of course test consists of 15 multiple choice questions. Learners are required to achieve a 75% pass mark, and, if necessary, may attempt the test three times at no extra cost.
If learners do not achieve the 75% pass mark, further attempts may be given by contacting our support team.
Learners will be able to download a digital certificate on completion. This can be printed, and we suggest you keep it for your records.
