Course description
This First Aid training course has been created by Virtual College, in partnership with First Response Training. The course will teach learners to follow the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines for basic to advanced life support training and provide knowledge of how to act in the event of an incident requiring first aid assistance.

Does this course make me a qualified first-aider?
To become a qualified first-aider you will need to undertake workplace first aid training that includes at least 18 training and assessment contact hours. There are many providers of face to face First Aid courses and more information on the legal duties of an employer can be found at: http://www.hse.gov.uk/firstaid/legislation.htm
Course duration
The first aid training and test usually take between 1 to 2 hours to complete (depending on learning speed), which is equivalent to 4 hours face-to-face group training.
Test and certificate
The end of course test consists of 15 multiple choice questions. Learners are required to achieve an 75% pass mark, and, if necessary, may attempt the test 6 times at no extra cost, having revisited the training material.
If learners do not immediately achieve the 75% pass mark, further attempts may be given by contacting our Learner Support team.
You can download and print a digital first aid certificate immediately upon completion.
