Overview

The course describes the main and current legislation in the food drink sector, the role of the enforcement bodies and the consequences of non-compliance.

Legislation covered in the course includes: The Weights and Measures Act 1985; The Licensing Act 2003 with case studies; Consumer Rights Act 2015; Equality Act 2010; Data Protection 1998; Smoke-free Regulations 2006.

The course also provides more information about the various Enforcement Bodies and their role in compliance with the legislation.

Learning Objectives

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Outline current legislation in the service of food and beverages
  • Understand the role of the relevant enforcement bodies
  • Identify the consequences of non-compliance under anti-discrimination, data protection and tobacco and drug legislation
