Learning Outcomes
The course is completely online and comes in four, easy to follow sections:
Module | What it includes |
An Introduction to Coffee and Coffee Equipment | An overview of how coffee is made, where it comes from, how coffee beans are grown, the roasting process and tips on how to make the best cup of coffee. This section also includes information on the equipment required to make coffee. |
Coffee Processes | The fundamentals of brewing espresso coffee and using the espresso coffee machine and grinder. Here was also cover what extraction is and its different types, what tamping is, what a puck is and why people change the girnd size for coffee. |
Milk and Pouring Process | The fundamentals of stretching and texturing milk, how to use a steam wand, why you should use a thermometer, the process of tapping and spinning the jug and how to avoid spoiling the milk. The pouring processes including pouring heights and the technique involved as well as how to create latte art. |
Barista Menu | A description of many different types of coffee with challenges to test your knowledge. |
Each section finishes with a short quiz at the end with five questions. At the end of the course, you will complete a simple assessment with twenty questions and receive an online certificate of completion.
